Favourite Thing: My favourite thing is learning something new and sharing it with people. This doesn’t just mean my research and science, although this is the most exciting for me. It could be something I read on a website, an article in a magazine or simply a new way of looking at something that I had taken for granted. Oh, and the masses of travelling isn’t bad either!
What I do: Trying to understand the birth of the visible Universe, using the tiniest things in Nature and the biggest experiments on Earth.

Favourite Thing: I love colour – in particular the “Barking Dog” reaction, or any spectacular ‘flame tests’ of metal salts!
What I do: I use lasers to pick up and move microscopic objects such as cells – by not touching them, we don’t damage them!
