• Question: Oh why oh why is the structure of my chromosomes???

      I don’t understand your question… Our chromosomes look as though they are “X” shaped – they are two rods tied in the middle, but beyond that I’m afraid we’ll have to ask the biologists!

      Hi Adam, what do you mean by this? Your chromsomes are basically all or DNA wrapped up really tightly so that it can fit inside each cell of your body. I think that the length of DNA, when stretched out is supposed to be about 2-3 meters long, whereas your cells are tiny, you have to look under a microscope to see a single cell. So each chromosome is a tightly coiled bundle of some of this DNA and we have 46 of them in each of our cells.
